Under the coordination of Jim Cushing of Healthy Hometown powered by Wellmark, Forest City conducted a Walking Audit in November of 2017.
The purpose of the audit was to identify obstacles for walking and biking within the downtown area and access to the trails. There were 18 local volunteer participants in the audit. The audit report was provided to Grow Forest City in January of 2018. Several suggestions for improvements were made in the report. Barb Smith, City Administrator will review and explore feasibility of the these projects.
Thank you to Jim Cushing and his team at Healthy Hometown for conducting the audit. Without this assistance and expertise, the audit which outlines several solutions to improve walkability and movement within the community would not have been found.
The report can be found at Forest City Walkability Assessment Report-REVISED
