Korth Nature Trail
Forest City Enhancement Committee was established in 2020 to encourage community members to participate in the process of community improvement projects.
The mission of the organization is to develop and complete physical and lifestyle enhancements in the Forest City community. Recent work of the organization is centered around improving pedestrian access to community assets, resources and essential services. The project chosen is the construction of the Korth Nature Trail. This trail will lead from Hynes Spur Trail north along the Winnebago River and finish at the parking lot at the HyVee parking lot. Connecting community and visitors to healthy food choices through the a pedestrian transportation route.
The Forest City Enhancement Board has raised $140,000 toward it’s goal of $300,000 to complete the project.. We are working hard to obtain additional funding so that construction can begin summer of 2021 for a completion by mid November 2021. This trail will be 10ft wide and offer a few benches for seating along the river, a picnic area at the bend of the river and educational signage along the route.
